I did a few searches and came up with nothing about the cruise control.
My question is... Why does my cruise not like keeping speed through the corners? Is there a way to calibrate it better or something? Its dropping like 4-6 mph. Anyway... Any help is appreciated thanks guys.

Mine does it too! I think part of it is because it doesn't have the power to maintain speed with 4k lbs of ballast, but when it speeds back up, it way overshoots the speed if you don't back out of it!

I have found that if you turn off the cruise before the turn and turn it back on about half way through, it won't overshoot, but there has gotta be something to fix this!

When I had my1235 prop never had an issue with cruise maintaining consistent speed in turns. However, I now have the 5 blade OJ and noticed surging some in very tight 180 degree turns to go back down the same pass. If I ease up on the turn just a little it holds the speed. I still have my1235 so I may try it out again.

Hi kohlieo, I had the same problem with my Axis here in Australia so I spoke to my dealer about it and he said to change the cruise control settings from speed cruise to rpm cruise and then it will keep the constant speed. If you hold the on/off cruise button for 3 seconds it will go into rpm mode.

my a20 does the same thing. all we do is give a little throttle through the turn, then back it down after the turn. the speed control beeps and its all good.

kohilieo: next time it drops speed on you around a turn, look down at the "set" speed reading on your speedometer to see if it is flashing at you. If it is flashing at you it is telling you to give it more throttle in order to rev the motor up to compensate for the turn.

I do what Glesh suggested. I use the throttle wide open until I get close to set speed and then ease the throttle back to assist the cruise control into the set speed smoothly and quickly. Around tight turns, I open the throttle to maintain speed and then back it out again as I complete the turn. Some guys drop the hammer and leave it, so that they will not have to play with the throttle at all, even around turns. This is fine except for 2 problems I can see: 1) you loose any full-throttle cruise-override that you could have had if you set the cruise control using something like 50-75% throttle position. 2) when making any turn, sharp or mild, you will get a full-throttle acceleration to adjust for speed drop which makes for a not-very-smooth pull for your rider and passengers, not to mention the noise level of the motor at wide-open throttle with every turn.
