Has anyone looked at the specs on the new MasterCraft NXT. They advertise $50K All Day but, wait for it, wait for it, The boat is only 91" wide. Plus it DOES NOT come with a trailer for the $50K price. I think Axis/Malibu doesn't have anything to worry about!

I don't think any of the budget brand boats have much to worry about till next season when the 22' and 24' NXT comes out. I doubt it will be advertised at 50k though.

don't take this this the wrong way but you cant buy a new axis for 50k I tried 60k is about the cheapest you can get ..... plus a trailer is only what 5k at the most. with tax its still 58-60k so it will be in the price range but still no competition imo

I was reading on wakeworld a guy bought one for 63k and it sounded like it had less options than my A22 and it is shorter, smaller beam, with no clue how the wake looks. I know for a fact you can get an A20 for 55k with trailer and a lot of options.

I got my T22 for well under 60 (tax, shipping, etc included), with surf gates, and some nice options (Swivel racks, Stereo pack 1, High Altitude, Cover, Spare tire, white v2 tower etc).

The NXT is no competition for Axis. As soon as a potential buyer compares the two, they will go Axis every time. I don't know what MC is thinking with this.

Guess between my state taxes and my dealer I was screwed.... I tried to build a A22 and out the door the cheapest I could get was like 61-62 even the A20 was 58 and this is before surf gate with standard trailer

Dezul i have always been told to go to Tenn to make purchases like street bikes, 4wheelers, and such to avoid the taxes in N.C.

The advantage I have with Malibu/Axis pricing is they are in my back yard. So is Mastercraft and Skiers Choice. I got a couple of $1000s off normal pricing due to skipping out on the frieght charge typically added to the bill. I am not sure if they do it in NC, but sales tax in Tennessee is the difference in price between your trade-in and the new boat and the sales tax is not a steady rate. After the first 3 or 4k getting taxed at 9.25%, then the tax rate drops a lot for the rest of the purchase.

I do not follow Mastercraft at all. I have not followed them for years now. Back in the day(and we are going way back) I could really see a difference in the quality of Mastercraft. But over the years I think all the companies are building better and better boats and I just do not see the price/value in Mastercraft or Nautique to be honest. I am curious to see what a 50K MC boat is like.

Mastercraft drop off one of these 50K boats and I will give it the once over.

I don't see the quality in MC anymore either but, I do see it in Nautique. The G series is a great quality boat with an amazing wake and really good features. I would definitely have one if I could afford it. I'm on my 3rd AXIS and the quality of all 3 has just been amazing.

To get any kind of wake out of a 91"x20' boat you will have to sink it to the rub rails. I don't even care to have a test ride!! haha

I checked the price on a fully decked out NXT with tandem trailer, etc. and it was $72,000.00. I happen to know the dealer and he said that I could get it for around mid 60's. With that being said, it is still a relatively narrow 20 foot boat, I can't see it making a great wake without sinking it way down. I currently own an MC but I'm not brand loyal, I can get a lot more boat for the same money going with an Axis, which is what I'm in the process of doing. Their advertising videos are down right goofy.
