I have a 2018 a24 with 950s in the rear lockers and ~ 750 bow bag under the bow seats. I have additional ballast bags I can put onto the floor (up 1500 lb) but I really prefer no bags on the floor.
The goofy wave is fantastic. I have zero complaints. The regular wave is super finicky. The boat seems to have trouble getting up to and/maintaining speed necessary for a nicely shaped wave on the regular side. If we get a gust of wind, the boat slows down and the wave turns to froth. I have had this problem with both a 2755 and 3077 ACME prop.
Anyone else experience this? I realize with prop rotation the regular wave may be a little more finicky, but what is the point of surfgate if you can only please the goofy riders on the boat?

Any thoughts and suggestions on weighting the boat are welcome. I usually run the regular side with wedge at 3 and speed ~ 11.2 - 11.4 with minimal bow weight. In varying scenarios I have also had the wedge at 4. The number of people in the boat is often variable. 2 to 7 usually.

Thanks in advance!

Katie

We have a 2018 A24 as well. We have no issues with our regular side wave, or goofy wave(although it the goofy is a little better). We fill all ballasts and ride. We have 850's(I think) in the rear and a 650 up front(that we fill until it pushes the seats up). Nothing extra. We drop our manual wedge and go. I like to ride at about 10.8-10.9 depending on if I am going against the wind or not. I am 6'4" 210. My wife is 5'4" 110 and likes her speed at 11.2-11.4 depending on wind.

Our wave is extremely consistent no matter how many people are in the boat. We usually have kids in the bow and maybe one adult. Everyone else is usually in the cabin. Most weekends we have 6 or more on the boat.

Not sure what the issue is. The only thing I can think of is maybe fill your bow ballast up. I mean we seriously just fill everything full and go. Simple as that for us. I can't say much about the power wedge.

The bow 750 is not enough for rear and cabin weight, run some lead or people up there
