The mounting "ball", where the gas shock attach to the boat is loose. The portion on the sunpad is fine but only the portion that attach to the metal frame is loose. How can I tighten it? It just spin freely.
I can't seem to find a way to reach the back side of this mounting bracket.

I attached a picture for clarity.

I would drill/cut a wrench access hole, apply thread-locker, and tighten it up. Better access might come in handy again at some point in the future. If you can't cut a neat hole, finish it up with a sign/label/thing-that-looks-like-it-belongs to hide the scar.

Mine came loose so this past winter I took the rear seat back off and drilled a hole directly accross from the mount big enough to fit a socket in and put a nut on the end and tightened. I figured while I had it a part I did the same thing to the other side while I had it a part. Staying tight so far and easy to get to if it comes loose again.
