I'm curious to know as well, I have a 2016 A22 w/350 motor on order, the build sheet says it will have the Acme 2313. I have no idea if this is the right prop for what we want to do with the boat. Most of the time will be spent surfing, a bit of wakeboarding with not much ballast (kids are still learning). If the 2313 will only go around 30mph WOT then that won't work for me, I'll have to get something different for a prop.

though not offered from the factory, a 2773 might be a good compromise prop (15x13) on the step down trannies.

My 2016 A20 came with the 2249, I tried the 2313 but the RPM'S jumped to much for my taste, settled with the 2773. RPM'S dropped back down but much stronger than the 2249 15x14.25 - .105 cup. I only wakeboard and run around 2800lbs ballast, no wedge. Dry weight of the A22 is 500lbs more than the A20.

Reviving an old thread. I'm looking at a new prop. Currently have 1235 on 2015 A20. 1.72:1 gearing.
Per Axis, props for that year were:
2249 - standard
1235 - high altitude
2313 - torque

My desire is to get the boat on plane better for surfing and get the nose down.

I called Axis and ACME both. Called ACME first and they recommend the 2249. Called Axis and they recommend the 2313. I'm leery of ACME recommendation because they have the same 3 props recommended for basically all Axis on their prop recommendation page AND their recommendation via phone is a less aggressive prop than the 1235 (based on how Axis sold them new)

This thread seems to jump between the 2315 and 2313 for heavy ballast and surfing. I rarely cruise above 25 mph, so top speed isn't an issue.

I can load the A20 pretty good. Have 150 lbs lead in the nose, 900 lb arrow sack, dual 750's in rear that I rarely fill. Axis rep (Dan) recommended filling fronts and less weight in rear with wedge down. Said surf gate should be slightly out of water when surfing. Thinks I may be over loaded. I'm thinking could be related to boat not getting on plane surfing and too deep in the rear.

So, reviving a couple year old thread...2313 or 2315?

On my 16 A20 I had I ran the Acme 2773. My boat came with the 2249. I tried the 2313 but it ran about 200 rpm higher than the 2773 and couldn't really feel a performance difference. I only wakeboard and it would get the boat on plane and up to wakeboarding speed pretty quick. 350 motor.

I have a ‘16 T22 with 350. Came with a 1235 on it. Wakeboard 95% of the time so not very concerned with surfing but everything I have tried for wakeboarding has worked fine surfing. Run with full stock hard tanks, sumo 650 P&P in bow and wakemakers custom 825’s in rear lockers. Usually only fill the rears to around 600-650 anything more and I need to add way more weight up front. No wedge. 1235 would work really hard to get on plane with that set up. Very slow out of hole but eventually would get up to speed. Ride at 21.4 @ 65’. Switched to OJ 948. Performance was slightly better but not that noticeable. I did notice a big improvement in fuel economy over the 1235 but not much out of the hole performance. Ran similar RPM’s as 1235, might have lost a little top end but prop seemed to have way less slippage and when crushing unweighted didn’t work as hard. Got in touch with OJ and was recommended a new prop they are just putting out, OJ 950. It’s a 945 with enhanced cupping. Will be running for first time this weekend. Not sure if it’s even available on any websites yet. Will post up results. I would go with a 15” prop and at least 13 pitch. OJ’s customer service is the reason I switched from Acme. I heard how great they are to work with and was not disappointed. I would recommend OJ to anyone.

Keep the reply’s coming. I started with a 1235, switched to the OJ 948 then went to a 2247 which I have been running for a year. The OJ seemed to give the drivetrain a different noise that may of just been me being over picky. The 2247 has worked great for everything we have thrown at it however it seems like we burn through fuel at a record pace. I’m seeing 6-8 gallons per running hour right now. Up to 10 gph when surfing with about 3 K in ballast.

I really need to come up with a combo to get fuel usage down, it’s making it pricey to get through a weekend.

What are you guys seeing for fuel burn with your props?

I did notice a different sound from the drivetrain with the 948 also. I was sure why. When I changed the prop to the 950 for this weekend my key looked pretty rounded off. I replaced with a new one to see if that might has caused some of the different sound. I’ll be at Lake Gaston all week so will have plenty of time to test the 950.

Do you know what kind of fuel usage you were seeing with the 948?

I don’t have exact numbers for fuel usage. Never tracked it closely enough to give specifics. Guessing I would say not too much different than what you are seeing. Probably around 6-6.5 gal per hour. That’s a pretty rough guess though. I’ll try to remember to track the 950 this week and see what I get.
