I do it all the time, but it requires a disappointing amount of flexibility. I unscrew all four knobs while holding up the main bar. I end up in arms distance of one of the support arms. I place one hand on the main bar and one on a support bar. I raise the main bar and catch the support I am not holding with my foot before it gains any momentum. I slowly set that bar down, re-raise the main bar, and lower the final support that had remained in its original position. Then the main section is folded down. After I back the boat into the garage I hold all three pieces up with rope from the ceiling so nothing is touching the vinyl.
Would be much easier if the side supporting sections were inside rather than out.

LOL Nice! What kind of speakers do you have on the tower? With a pair of rev10s on mine, it is very heavy.

It's easier because as of now there are no speakers. I'll likely require some help for safety's sake once $$ worth of speakers are attached.

What would be wrong with just putting the arms on the inside of the tower? I did it to mine once on a weekend trip just to see if it would work out and no one knew any different, the board racks swivel 180deg so I just put each arm on the opposite side since the tops are angle cut and screwed the knobs in from the inside.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the arms are drilled all the way through.

No the arms aren't drilled all the way through. The bolt has to go though the tower first and then into the arm which appears to be helicoiled

I think he actually took the arms off and switched them?

Ya on my 2010 the tabs on the tower are threaded and the two curved uprights are drilled all the way through, I can mount mine on either side and be on the inside or outside, the only difference is the top of the uprights are angle cut on the top lip.

Sorry for the late response but this is what i use. Simple 2x4 and maybe im lucky, but one of my tower supports stands freely so i pull it back and it stands straight up...I pull the other one back and let the tower down on this 2x4. Then lay the supports on the tower. Try tightening the allen bolts that hold the support so one will stay upright while you let tower down.

I have no problem letting tower up and down alone. I am almost a pro at it...I have to everytime to put the boat up or get it out.

Thanks, since starting this thread, ive now moved into a storage that will actually fit without lowering the tower. I did manage to start lowering it like you said by tightening the legs so they stand up while i lower the tower. After doing this many many times, it started getting harder to align the tower to the leg and getting very close to stripping out the threads. Not sure what happened but it was definitely getting out of whack.
