So we took delivery of our A22 on saturday. We are pumped! I was looking at the wedge and noticed what looks to be another setting. There is a second hole on the bottom of the wedge that looks like you can take out the nut and place it in the second hole. Anyone else ever tinker with this? Does anyone know what it is for or what it would do? I attached a stock picture of an Axis wedge, (This picture is not my boat) and drew a fancy arrow to the location I am talking about. Thanks in advance.

I noticed the same thing, If you removed the lower bolts you could lock the wedge in the lower position from the looks of it. I guess you could do that if you didn't want the "floating" wedge functionality. From what I hear, the floating wedge is more desirable than the old wedges that locked in the down position.

I was wondering if you put the nut that is in the top hole into the bottom hole, I wonder what it would change about the wake shape? Does that make sense?

If the dealer didn't tell you about it then shame on them for not walking you through every feature. The floating Wedge has 2 settings. The bolts make the wedge sit at a different angle hence creating more/less downforce. I think the factory setting simulates around 600-800lbs and the second setting simulates 1200lbs.

So which hole/setting is the larger setting? The top or bottom?

the upper one is probably the "larger" since that would be similar to a Malibu Power wedge running at "a few clicks up".

The boats come with the wedge in the small setting which is the top holes which are slightly closer to the back of the boat. The second/lower hole is a little farther out making the wedge have more of a downward angle.

I can't believe I am having to explain this. Your dealer should be shot!!!

My dealer failed to mention this to me as well. Thanks for the info. I plan to change mine so I can run a little less in my p-n-p.

I noticed that too this weekend. So take the thru bolt out and move to lowest hole? I wouldn't want it locked down all the time.

I noticed those holes too but I don't think they line up with the locking pins on the wedge.
