Looking at buying a weekend toy. Found a 2 owner well maintained Camaro SS with 124k. It looks and drives new. It is stock and has new tires. Question is what is it worth? What KBB and NADA say and what I see them for online are two dif #s.

So question to my Axis bros....what would it be worth to you? If you were in the market.

Being a manual definitely helps as well as it being an SS but it's still a 15 year old camaro with higher mileage. I'd say 5-6k personally. I had a 2001 T/A about 5 years ago and paid $7k for it with under 90k miles. Was a fun summer toy with the t-tops removed.

Yea, that was my orginal offer. We have negotiated down to a closer number for me, however it is still higher than i really wanted to pay.

Here is the link if you would like to see the car. It is just as nice in person.

If you are going to spend the money, just get a 2000ish vette and do it right. The Z06's are nice. I don't know much about cars but I do know the camaro and firebird interiors sucked during those years. I personally believe that is what caused gm to tank. Their quality sucked.

I agree on the corvette but to get a better interior you've gotta step up to a C6 which is $20k+. The Camaro/Firebird/Corvettes all have VERY similar interiors, and I agree it horribly dates the car.

There is a definitely a "bottom" price a lot of these type of cars will hit. 6spd SS Camaro w/ LS1...yeah it's gonna hold its value pretty good compared to a regular Z28. The LS1's run well in higher mileage so I wouldn't be overly concerned about the miles I just always like to think about what I could when I want to sell it. I don't see that number being $8k, however it'll always pull a premium one week before race wars....ahem, I mean one week before summer officially starts and in a nice sunny climate. :D

Oh man I used to have a 2000 T/A that I gave up for a more "practical" car before my daughter was born. Such a fun car. I think I'd have a real hard time paying more than 5k for it today, even that is hard to justify for a 15 year old car. Sure do wish I still had mine though.

Well thanks for the feedback, but I cant get a Corvette since I do have a kid and need the back seats to justify the purchase. 8k is high, but if you could get it somewhere in the mid to upper 6k range would you?

I think that the car has lost most of the depreciation already. It is a true SS #'d car and has a clean history. It also has no rust and no mods.

That is my opinion, but I wanted some Axis brah feedback.
