Hi
I have recently purchased an ex-demo T22 that came without the Bow ballast installed, nor does it appear that there is any plumbing ready for it.

I would like to install and use the dedicated bow switch, so therefore put in 2 pumps and all the sub floor plumbing. I assume that I use the thru hull from the centre tank infill?

Will likely get the kit from Wakemakers.

Has anyone done this and can perhaps give some advice and even better shoot some piccies through, so I can get my head around it!

Thanks in advance
Matt

I think it’s 650 lbs not sure but on my 15 t22 it filled the entire area up under the seats. I got the a24 and it needs different bag.

Most people who already have a bow pnp bag set up and want additional front weight via another bag install a single reversible pump. You could just go this route from the beginning. They are more expensive, but you buy one instead of 2 and they are much faster.

Can anyone see a problem with me using the spare thru hull adjacent to the centre tank infill pump?
This is currently a drain outlet with a brass T plug. I open this one and the rear plug when washing the boat.

Has anyone converted this for a ballast infill pump?

Saves me either drilling a new hole, or piggy backing off my centre tank through hole. As this would slow filling times of both I’d expect??

Some people do use the center plug. You obviously lose the plug. If you trailer home I'd make sure I stayed on an incline long enough to drain everything. Its a bigger deal if you have your boat on a lift, the center plug is the low point when the boat is level. The other drawback is that the center plug is smaller in diameter than what most people drill, thus smaller tubing. I considered it and I considered drilling a hole close by.
In the end it only saves you from drilling the hole and the mushroom through hull fitting. I wasn't to excited about drilling into the boat myself, so I paid a local small business glass guy 20 bucks to drill it. I brought him the new bit I had purchased and marked out the location. In the end that was dumb.
A couple of days after that I drilled three of the same holes into my friend's family OG xstar. There was nothing to it. Watch some youtube videos on drilling into a boat and DIY.

I wouldn’t use the center drain. It’s there for a reason. There’s plenty of room to drill a hole for a bow pump and that’s what the factory does.

In the end, I put a brass T on my centre infill, and added a Piranha pump, so filling both centre and bow from the factory thru-hull.
This leaves my T drain to do its thing.

Works well. I haven’t noticed an issue with fill time. Both still fill much faster than my rear stock + 850PNPs.
