Hello everyone,

I started out with a 2010 axis a22 with the plastic footwell under the helm. I trimmed it out and built a 2cuft subwoofer box for a 12" sub. Sounded awesome. I just ordered a 2018 a24 and will be picking it up later this week. I did not order the boat with the subwoofer installed because i did not want an infinate baffle sub. So with that being said, underneath the helm on these new boats it is walled off. I ordered the boat with the 3 port heater. Is the heater stuffed back behind it? This area seems smaller than the older a22s and want to put a sub box inside. Is there any way to take off the top dash to get inside from the top? I would cut a square into the front and put a custom cnc'd sheet metal panel over top similar to what the new maiblus have, but bigger. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Taking off the dash won't get you anywhere. You can access the area from the bow. A couple screws and the bow cushion lifts off and gives you decent access to the area behind the wall.

Here is a pic of a 2018 A24 with SP3 and where the factory puts the heater core. Without the sub there the factory mounts the heater core right above where the sub is now. This pic shows where you will have to mount the core at least. The other pic is the amp wall.ImageImage

Is that the new MC-1? Install details? Any idea if it works with SurfBand?

I just put the same unit in my 2017 A20. Fairly straight forward install but you do lose transfer beep and volume controls on surfband. Not a huge issue for me but Im still waiting on wetsounds to work out a solution. I heard they were in talks with axis about it. Its much better than the stock unit for sure.
