Post subject:  Prop pitch

So our T23 came with a 15.75 pitch prop on it , has the HO 450 hp in it , on top of riding when we can ( we are on a river ) , we also end up driving around quite a bit , wether for restaraunt’s or further islands to hang out on with different people . Obviously a 15 pitch is awful on fuel ( not that these boats are good on fuel or meant to be ) but have any of you put a higher pitch on ?? I would love a 19, but I see it jumps right from 17 to 22.5.

Just wondering input

A higher pitch will increase top end speed. If you plan to use all the ballast that boat has to offer you wont be able to move it very well with anything higher than the 15.75. The prop you have is most likely the 2777. Most people go down in pitch to help move the boat fully weighted. You should be looking at a 2249 or something close to that.

What prop number do you have? We've got a '17 with the 410 in it. The 2249 came stock. Top end is around 37-38. When surfing, we run stock plus 550 PNPs in the back, 650 triangle in the bow, a 600 Sumo Sac either in the walkway or just in front of the hump, and 100 lbs. of LeadWake in the bow. At 11.4, we are turning around 3,400 RPMs. Checkout WakeMakers.com for prop info. . . .
