Their has been some concern expressed about the front bow sack getting holes in it over time as the chillax seat brackets push into the sack when its filled completely. I bought a $1 mouse pad and cut it into 4 pieces, was going to use rubber cement to attach it. Before I did that, I had left over surfboard traction pad that I cut into pieces and put it on the sack instead. I did not expect the traction pad to stay as the sack was filled and emptied over and over again, however, so far it has stayed in place. My mouse pad and cement are still in the boat waiting to be used next.

I have another Idea. I have 2 straightline 440 sack COVERS still from my previous boat. They are thick, have zippers, and looks to have the holes in the correct spots to accomodate both the drain and fills on the front sack. My idea is to cut these 2 bags in half, leaving me with 4 bow sack protectors. My boats in the shop, when I get it back I will see if it fits like I think it will and take pictures if successful. If anyone has any ballast covers lying around, try this out and let me know how it works.

Did it. I will test it wednesday to make sure it allows sack to fill all the way with the cover zipped up, if not I will leave it unzipped. here are some shots of it installed and outside.

The dimensions are aprox 12" x 12" x however long I cut it... 20" ?

I gave one to Ed, and have 2 more. If you want one, I will sell it to you for the price of shipping and packaging... first 2 guys to PM me get them.

gone and gone. Sorry guys, no more.

The surfboard traction pad is still on my sack and worked fine last year if you are looking for a little protection.
