Hey there.

I'm so glad I found this forum and it is great to be here! Hopefully I can get some answers to my questions.

As already wrote earlier, I recently bought a used A22 off a good friend of mine. So far, so good. Last weekend we did a few trips and everything is fine. But I'm not really content with the current sound system.
As far as I know, my friend bought the A22 in 2013 with the basic Alpine in boat speakers. To me they simply sound kind of dry and flat.

That is why during this week I did some research research and checked out some well known websites for classified ads. I found a great deal for a pair of Wet Sounds with LED rings on the for sales website https://www.for-sale.ie/wet-sounds. So my question is, is there any chance to update the tower speakers by just removing the alpine speaker and putting in some better ones from Wet Sounds or Exile? Does it work or do a need an new, more powerful amplifier as well?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Alex.

I think it is still the factory equipped MTX amplifier.

Not familiar with what amp that would be.

I'll ask my friend. He should know. He originally bought the boat.

To get the most out of those speakers, you're probably going to want to get an amp that matches their capabilities. Chances are, the Alpines are going to be rated much lower than the WetSounds, and have a much smaller amp than is needed.
