Have a 2014 t22 no tower speakers.

I keep hearing wet sounds etc. vs JL. We wakesurf mostly, have 4 months of boat time -Buffalo- do not hang out in coves blasting music. I want a good sounding tower set up that will not cost 2k...preferably not 1k..

-am i better off getting a dual set up like a polk for 800 bucks smaller speakers X4 vs just one pair?

-just one pair of Rev 8's??

the 10's seam like monster speakers don't need them that big..

I want good sound but really don't want to break the bank there must be something in between JUNK and super high end.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

If you mostly surf buy someone's icon 8 factory takeoffs and you should be good since your not wanting to spend a ton of money. There were some on here not long ago

I would also look at exile.. they sell demo (refurbished I'm sure) for 699 on their website so you get a full warranty. I would start wiith one pair and you can add a second pair later if yuou want. I just replaced my whole stereo except my exile towers I kept.

A question for you also is if you want to hear the music while surfing. I have a 24 MXZ with 4 Titan speakers that came with the boat from the dealer. Solid, decent, but...me personally, I'm considering getting wetsounds. A bud with a Supra has Exiles, which are nice (better than my setup), but he laments they aren't as good as wetsounds. They are pricey, I'd recommend doing whatever comparison you can to decide what is good enough for what you want.

Thanks for the input.
I looked all over and got a pair of wet sounds icon 8. seems like these are good for surfing and the more expensive REV are for wakeboard or off axis.( no pun)..

crutch field had a scratch and dent-ie out of box for 630.. seems like its worth a shot. Im going with one pair to start.

you'll be pretty happy with that for wakesurfing

So i installed the Wetsounds ICON 8 just a pair. I have no idea what people need for sound but these speakers w a good amp are incredible . I was on land but god my kid ran 100 yards back and it was still crystal clear...

I can't imagine having 4 of these speakers on a boat playing it would be overwhelming. These are tight sounding no matter what music you play..

These speakers exceed my wildest expectations.

They carry a long ways that's for sure :) I just wish they could mellow down the highs a bit on them. I have all wetsounds except exile towers simply because I'm scared of the horns lol

I installed a cheap volume control knob so i can adjust the towers independent of the regular boat speakers. makes a difference

I have finally heard the exile xm9's. They sound good. My rev 10s still sound better. I wouldn't hold back from owning either though. Exile makes a great product with awesome tech support. Both exceed my needs.
