I have mine tinted with 5%. You will not see out of it at night, but it does look sweet.

Anytime you say I need window tint and you follow up with for my boat... they add $150 bucks. :)

I think in Austin you are looking at $250 and up.

I would run by a Auto tint shop in College station. Axis glass is pretty easy compared to some of the Malibu glass from the past.

So, why not try to attempt this yourself, seems pretty straight forward and the materials are like $10 ($20 for the Llumar on eBay). Can't find anyone in my VA area that cheap.

Here is my A22 with 5% tint. Ill never have a boat without it now. 5% scares some people, but its not like 5% in your car. You have sunlight on both sides of the windshield since its not enclosed like a vehicle.

While 5% looks good if you look at year's of boat windshield tint threads you'll find that a large number of boat owners who did 5% say they'll never do it again. It's rare to find someone with 20% say they wish they'd gone with 5%. It's not for most by a long shot. I completely agree in what you say about you being able to see okay with the abscence of the roof and dark interiors that cars have...it's not as bad.

Even with Axis's fairly straight windshield both times I had mine done the tint guy still had to use a little heat to get it to fit perfect. I don't think most people have this ability at home.

The guy that did mine used his wife's hair dryer to shrink the corners, was pretty simple to do
