Post subject:  T23 Ballast Recommendations

I've got a T23 coming in a couple months with a 410 (at altitude). The dealer says "We recommend 750s in the rear." We took one out on the water with 750s, and there seemed to still be lots of room in the lockers to me. But I see people talking about putting 900s in the T22 and they aren't completely filling. I'll probably have the plug n play empty for wakeboarding, so this is just wakesurfing we're talking about.

What is the maximum size I can fit in the lockers of a T23? What is the maximum size bow sack that fits under the seats? Any reason NOT to put in the maximum sizes? (Dealer says wakegate goes too far underwater if you put too much ballast in.)

If nobody knows for the T23, what are the maximum sizes for a T22 and A24?

I used fly high 1100s in the A24 last year and plan on doing the same in my new T23. They won't get completely full but they will fill every nook and cranny!!!

The Sumo 900's will fill completely...get them. You can't fill what you don't have so I wouldn't get the 750's...get 900's or 1100's. Like CDoogles said, 1100's May not fill all the way but they will adjust to the compartment. My Sumo 900's fill completely in my A24 and the Sumo 900's hold 1000lbs

Okay, so 900s fill completely in the back, 1100s don't but probably get a little more weight than the 900s. Do I have to get that support kit for the engine wall to use those bigger sizes? Is there a downside to that much weight? Does it bury the surfgate?

Also, what is the largest size that fits under the bow seats. Remember the aisle between the windshields is a walkway in the T23. I've seen some Axis bags that have an extension back there.

The T23 isn't special in that the it has a walkway...so does the 2015 A22 and the 2014+ A24. The bow sack should weigh approx 650-750. I use the Sumo 900's in my A24 without the reinforcement kit with no issues or bowing in the divider walls. I would get the kit with the 1100's though. You don't have to fill the 900's or 1100's all the way if you have a large crew. However, if you were to get the 750's and only had a light crew and needed more weight, guess what...you can't fill what you don't have.

Hey Ed! Do you know if the ballast manufacturers plan on making a T23 series sized arrow bag or are we stuck with the T22 size?

I have not heard of a new T23 size nose bag. Is the T23 open under the seating area? I have not pulled the cushions on a new T23 to even look.

Ed, I'm sure one of the existing Sumo V-sacks will fit the T23 good

Sumo makes 2 size A shaped bags that will work in the new T23. I do not think you can put the Arrow in the 2015 T23. That does not have the covered walk. I actually think most of the 2015 will have to use the A type nose bag.

Is the only Axis that uses the triangle bag the 2014 T22?
