So I've got a T23 and I removed the kick panel and there's a huge area under the dash (relative to other models) that my dog likes to hang out under when we're stopped and it's hot out, but I've decided I also want to add a subwoofer this year. Here's my thinking, use one of the JL shallow mount subs, JL12tw3, that can utilize a thin box (~5 inches deep) and mount the box sideways back up against the walkthrough panel. That way when my dog is out with us I can turn off the sub and she can get under there and when she's not with us, I've still got a subwoofer I can use. Any thoughts on this? Would that mounting location be fine? Foresee any problems with that? Any thoughts on that sub setup in a boat? I don't need something that kills fish, I just want some bass and to take load off my mains/tower speakers. |

Are you talking under the drivers area? If so no need to do a shallow woofer.. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk |

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk Yes, but I want to mount it sideways with the sub facing the starboard hull, not facing the driver. That way there's still space under there so my dog can get out of the sun when needed. If I wasn't worried about that, I'd just get a better sub and mount it right into the dash panel like on the sound pack 2. Quick 60 second mock-up in MS Paint |

That would work. It'd be an intentional compromise, but not an unreasonable one. |

I guess the t23 must be different than my a24? I have my sub mounted in a normal box in the factory location and in no way does it affect the space for a dog to lay down.. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk |

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk If you remove the sub carpted panel there's a bunch of space under the dash, of the T23 at least, other the dog would be directly under my feet. I went and measured it today. It's about 24 inches deep, 28 inches wide and 20 inches tall once you get past the sub panel. I think I can fit a box along the left side that's 7 inches long, 16 inches tall and 22 inches deep. |
