 Post subject: Ballast Tanks

Have a question about stock ballast tanks and a pretty silly question for a Newb owner.

I have factory ballast and No Plug and Play yet.
The basics.....
Right rear fills in about 4 min, drains in about 4 min
Leaft Rear fills in about 5 min, drains in about 5 min
Center fills in about 8min and drains in about 8 min

Front runs for 10+min with no signs of overflow and when I try to drain there are no signs of anything in the tank. I can hear the pump running but nothing filling.
Have been told that I dont have a front factory ballast tank and that the pump is there for a plug n play system and that it runs in a loop until plugged into a plug and play.
Just want to make sure this is correct. I have a 2012 Axis A22.
Kinda feel dumb asking this question but any help would be appreciated.

Also thinking about adding Plug N Play during the off season. What is recommended? I dont want to worry about reinforcing the sidewalls.
Looking for a right and left rear with a sack under the front. Recommendations?

Hmm you say you run the front for 10 min with no return. This would concern me because axis hooks the front plug n play back to itself. They do this so that if the front switches accidentally turned on it will not fill the The hull full of water. If you had it running for 10 minutes I would be concerned where is that water going

Basically as soon as you turn the switch on you should be pumping water out the side of the boat

Its not filling the hull as I have checked for this.
Could the line be clogged? Where do I look and how do you check for that?

Under the chillax seat you will see three hoses going into a y. This is the front plug n play. The hose going into the helm (drivers section) is the vent. I guess it plausible that this could be plugged but pretty unlikely. The hose with the check valve connected to is your fill line and the other is the drain line. You can also decipher the two by turning on your drain switch and putting the hose's up to you ear. The hose making noise is obviously your drain line. Another thing that could be happening is your front pump could be air locked though I'm not sure this will happen when not hooked up to a bag. In any case you can remedy an air lock by getting the boat up to about 25-30 mph and turn the pump on. if everything is hooked together and the pump is working properly you should pump water out of the vent as soon as the switch is turned on.
