So what is this error. Boat seems to run fine but the annoying beep every so often is driving me nuts.

2013 A22

Last year right after purchase I got a code like this don't remember the number or code. The dealer told me it was just a spark plug so I am assuming this is the same code back again. They changed the plug and cleared the code.

Does that mean Spark plug notice #8 cylinder? How can I make sure the dealer gets this resolved this go around. I am a pretty good haul from the dealer as it is. Why would the engine foul spark plugs anyway?

I have auto enginuity software for OBD II and non OBDII diesel trucks so what scan tool do I need and where is the test pport located on my boat? Because I tried disconnecting the batteries for a while and it did nothing. There doesn't seem to be a way to clear the code through the instrument panel either.

Thanks in advance for any input on this topic

Adrian

I would suggest checking the distributor cap and all the plugs.

Hi boys.
Sorry for thé english. French speaking 99% of the Time !
I had the same problem. I’ve seen two dealer , 2 solo mechanic ... still having problem off engine shouting down when running engine about 20-25 mph.
And off course it’s à intermittent problem.
We have change cap rotor Twice! All spart plug and cables, 8 injector , no water in tank. Changed the fuel filter.
The only thing I could think off would be sensor.
I have been told There is 2 for the injector... one for Low speed and one if There is more Power....
Axis 2012 a22 With indmar 5,3 ltr

Anyboby have encounter the same problem?
Thanks in advance !

I just had the cylinder one code.. i was about to do all the plugs when a great local mechanic said just check ur cap and rotor first.. thats the weak point on our boats.. they are for sure. I changed mine as it was extremealy corroded on all the points and got the code cleared.. code has t come back yet so.

Did you replace just the cap and rotor or the entire distributor? I have the same problem and was trying to figure out which to purchase.

I keep getting the cylinder 1 misfire code, and my boat runs fine. I ended up biting the bullet and buying the reset tool($700) because it seems to pop up after a decent jolt over a wave, and I don’t want to run to the dealer every time it comes on. My next steps will be cam position sensor and knock sensor, but I’m told it may just be some bad software in the MEFI Unit. I’d be willing to rent my “techmate pro” for those that just want to clear the error.

Did the reset fix your problem? I’ve done my cap, rotor, plugs, and wires but can’t get it to reset with the three fast starts.
