Just upgraded to a 2014 T22. Can't wait for warmer weather! Would love to get some thoughts on the Hyperlite Broadcast wakesurfer and the Liquid Force Fish wakesurfer. Had an older Hyperlite that was a good all-around board. Looking for general purpose use, including something good for beginners. Considering getting both.

I had the fish for my old boat used once with my axis and sold it, it's slow and not very fun imo. But no experience with hyperlite surf boards.

Our liquid force Pod has become the favorite for just about everyone behind my boat. The Liquid Force Primo is pretty awesome too for the price.

you always need a beginner board on the boat so I would not really stress over this purchase. you will end up getting a new board for each serious rider at some point. I do believe that the fish is the old venture shape so that shape is pretty old. Between the two I would get the broadcast since that was redesigned a few seasons ago so it is a newer shape. If most of the riders are on the small side the smaller size might be best. HOWEVER the smaller size will be hard to keep in the pocket for a larger rider.

We have the Broadcast and we LOVE it! Everyone in our crew has learned on it. I still love riding it. We have people of all different shapes and sizes learn on it. Definitely a great board for any boat!

Good choice!

2nd the LF Primo is probably my favorite. Super easy & quick to recover. Also like the Shim too.

I'm not sure what kind of board you are looking for in terms of style (surf/skim) but my vote is for the CWB Bentley. I have ridden almost all the super high end phase five boards and I owned the hyperlite quad (sucks).

This board is in expensive, light and rides better than most. They come in three sizes for your weight. You can change the fins on it to have a more surf feel or skim style.

The only issue is that it's not as bullet proof as a carbon fiber board but if you treat it well it will last.

The bad thing about the non-compression molded surfs is they do take some damage. And for a beginner type board they tend to take more hits. For a 'boat' board I would go with something that is sturdy. Broadcast, fish, rocket, and ride are all in the entry level category and fit the bill. Ride only comes in one size so kind of big on the kids. The broadcast you can get in a small and larger size board so you can fit that board towards the riding crew. The rocket has three sizes so you can also tune the board size for the crew.
