I am about to leave the office today and I am surprised that I am going to be surfing in boardshorts this afternoon.

Anyone else still on the water in boardshorts?

For the rest of the winter I have been looking at the Boost Drysuit. Does anyone wear booties with a drysuit?

I am wearing my Boost suit for about 4 weeks now.

When it comes time to put on the neoprene booties, I am getting too old for that and will likely be done. The water here is upper 50's which is cold for me, but not so cold that the feet or hands need extra care. If we keep running above 70 degrees air temp, my season may last even longer.

I use the surf booties with a boost drysuit. Also wear thick scuba gloves. The booties aren't great...nothing like bare feet on the board, but they make a HUGE difference. The kind I have the big toe is separate from the other 4. Works out pretty well.

You can still trunk it in San Diego, but it was cold enough at sunrise this morning that I opted for my full suit

I think the split toe was what I was looking for.

I looked up the boost suit and I can get them pretty cheap so I will add in a set of booties also and a set of gloves. Probably will only use it once or twice but it will not hurt to have one.

I know you guys are primarily surfing so it doesn't fully apply but these are the Gloves https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MTEPYA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use and these are the booties/socks https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017OFQQ4W/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. You don't really need the socks with good wakeboard boots, but they help during the times really close to ice close/open up here in Wisconsin.
The gloves on the other hand are the best I've found in keeping your hands warm while being acceptably thin. When you wear neoprene gloves while wakeboarding you end up using your forearms way more than you do without. The thicker the glove, the worse this gets, but of course you get better cold/wet protection. I've tried different gloves and these seem to provide the best balance. I'm sure they would do well work wakesurfing and provide you with the best opportunity to move back another 60 feet.

How cold does does the water really get in Texas?

Where I am it really is going to be overkill for the booties and gloves. The drysuit might even be overkill.
