What is are you paying for a boat slip on your lake? I was just calling around here in Austin and the going rate for Lake Austin looks to be 700-900 per month. That's right.. A covered lift for 700-900 a month. |

Whoa! Down on Norris in Tennessee they start at $150/month, only offer annual contracts though. |

On the water, lift included? $150? I guess having all these mega stars living on Lake Austin has really skewed the costs for us regular boaters.. |

Holy crap I've only priced houseboat slips at the lake we prefer in KY and is only 2-4k a year depending on which marina and size but have not priced a slip for our axis as I won't leave it just mooring whips off the rear for the weekends Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk |

It's crazy, right? And if you call the bigger marinas on Lake Austin (Oysters Landing, Ski Shores) they won't even put you on the waiting list because it is over 5 years deep! I keep my boat on Lake Travis for $400 month on the water on a lift. You could probably find marinas on the lake that are less, but I chose a specific marina for proximity purposes and it is worth paying extra in money rather than time. Katie |

Oyster landing would not even pickup the phone. I did check with a few people and the going rate on L Austin is 700-900. It does seem like turn over on the slips is less than a few a year. If I were on the Travis side I would so look at the other places but you are right Katie location is key. I had a customer once buy a boat in oyster landing. He bought the boat and then traded it in on a new boat just so he could have the oyster landing slip. |

How tight is tight?? So I looked over at the G23 in the slip next to me. It is busting out of the cradle. Looks like all 102 inches of beam are being used and the G is has chains sitting right on the rub rail. With the boats growing in size in our industry all these older docs are not setup to handle 102inch boats. I might have to add some PVC or something to keep the boat safe in the slip. |
