I am in Tennessee and in the past stored our Malibu on a lift that is covered-roof and adjacent boats- and protected from the weather. Technically its outside and is exposed to the elements but it is covered and protected from rain and snow. the good news is no worry from mice.

Over the past 2 years we have stored our new Axis in dry storage in a steel barn. The big worry is mice and other critters. I set out poison and traps but I worry all winter and check it every 2-3 weeks. I had a friend who had his boat damaged from a mouse so I'm a little paranoid.

Any thoughts on storing on a lift vs a steel barn? I'm in TN regarding weather.

Mine has been stored in a garage for the past two years and no issues... mice can get to it anywhere..

Use painters tape to seal up the exhaust, both drain holes in the bulge, as well as all of the ports on the side.

Buy a 30-40 sheet count of fabric softener sheets and place them everywhere. I've had all of my boats stored in a building where you can see daylight through the gap on the bottom and I've never had any issues. I'm in Oklahoma for what's it's worth.

winterize it and leave it on the lift if the mice concern you. I do agree that mice can go anywhere tho

I store mine in a barn where there are thousands of mice, I leave both bilge plugs in, plug all ballast ports with steel wool, seal up the boat cover where it wraps around the tower and then I put 5 or 6 bags of "Fresh Cab" scented pouches inside the boat in various areas. It seems to work. Sealing up the exhaust would be a good idea too although I never do.
