What weight setups are y'all running for surfing? My buddy is running the suck gate on his boat and he is curious about the weight setup and distributions people are running.

When I had my 2013 A22 w suck gate, I ran Ronix 800 rear bags & the 950 Arrow bow bag under front seat w hard tanks full. Worked great.

That is what I told him. He claimed the wake was better with only half the front ballast full. I will have to get out there with him soon and see for myself.

Would make the wake shorter with less in the front. Maybe he just likes the sweet spot short and right behind the boat?

Every situation is different. Water roughness, wind, speed, current, how much gas, people. It's a constantly adjusting task. I have 2 900 sumos in the back and 650 up front and ballast all the way around. Also a wedge. Some days I only need the wedge and front ballast. This weekend I only put half wt. in rears and the wedge. I had 12 in the boat and 3 sat up front. I notice that the wind blowing towards the wake really changed the shape, size, and push. I guess short answer is it depends. I'm 170 and I was able to surf all the back in the wake. There were 3 total boaters. 1 surfing, a flagger, and driver. No weight up front this day.

Yours appears to be a surfgate boat and not a suck gate.

I have an axis 2014 a22 and run wedge down for surfers over 150 lbs(if I need a stronger push) . Otherwise we full left, right, & center hard tanks then 900 fly high fat sac in bow + a 750 fat sac in each rear locker. Gives a nice wake anyone can surf. Not as nice as I've seen behind a 24 foot boat but still very surfable.

I'd love to ride a wave that long if the proper push were there.Weight in rear for push and front for length - but as maileaxis says, it's different daily. Looking at your wave, seems that sweet spot is just a couple - three feet back from your swim platform. Did your surfer get that close? Many are uncomfortable getting up there

depends on what rear bags he has. i just find that the more weight in the boat, the better it gets.
