Where does everyone tie off their anchor? We've been tying off to one of the forward grab handles but I hate using grab handles for anything other than something to grab.

No cleats up front and the eye on the bow where the trailer winch hooks seems really awkward to reach.

Tried tying off to one of the side cleats but that makes the boat anchor off angle and just seems wrong.

I always reach over the front and go through the eye on the bow. It's bit awkward, but I haven't fallen in yet. On a side note, I hate having an anchor on the boat so we rarely ever do it. When we do, I'm always worried I'm going to forget and drive over the line so I take out the safety harness. This was fine except once, with a full boat of friends I pulled the anchor and then tried to get the boat started for ten minutes before I remembered I had the harness out. That was not my proudest boat ownership moment.

I use 2 box anchors. One off the bow eye and another off one of transom tie-down cleat. I don't like to sway is why I use 2 anchors. You can also just loop your rope through the bow eye and then tie it off to a bow handle. That way the boat will stay centered over the anchor point and dead into the wind if that's your objective and it allows for max holding power of the anchor and minimizes current or wind blowing the side of the boat.

My anchor very rarely goes in the water because we boat on reservoirs. So usually they're deeper than the anchor line is long unless we're at the shoreline, in which case we bury it on the beach. I then attach it to the front cleats. If I'm leaving it for the day and even if I'm camped next to it at night I bury a couple of deadman anchors on the beach and tie off the back cleats too. Coupled with driving it up onto the beach a bit (I have a keel gard) that seems to keep it in place well even with a rising lake level. All I ever use that ring on the front for is trailering.
