Looking to get a keel guard for 2017 axis. A 20 does anyone know what length I should get? Or what length you have on yours?

I'm guessing it really doesn't matter, more of a preference, just buy longer than you think you need and trim it if you end up not needing it.

Interested in why you would do that?

Protect the hull when beaching is my guess. I will be looking into one this year as well, our primary lake we boat on is a sand bottom (narrow) and nowhere to anchor up, beaching is the only option.

I would be more worried about your tracking fins...

Anchor in front of the beach you would pull it up on?? My boat never touches the beach...

There isn't enough room where we boat to do that. The line out to the anchor on he back end could get run over. Our lake has very narrow stretches.

You could try a Box Anchor, it doesn't need a very long line at all. You can anchor it like directly under the boat or 5 ft out and it'll hold

Yup I have done the same with the nose of the boat pointed in so I could anchor closer to the beach.
