Hey. Has anyone found someone to fabricate the end section of the tower mirror out of stainless steel or a harder metal? Mine broke today and I would like to purchase just the small end section instead of the entire $350 arm

Thanks for your input if you know of someone

Jim

Never seen anyone break one honestly, call some local machine shops if your after a harder material but their labor rate is not cheap. my father has owned a machine shop my entire life and to do that on a Bridgeport or lathe including material your not saving much

Texas Malibu can order the "hotdog". It was included in purchase of a traded in one where they made the hotdog. Paid one price but I believe that is about $100 ordered separate and you wait for it to be made 3-6 weeks?? Can't remember

I do agree with soft part, stood up and bent it slightly back, still worked then I got lucky and bent it back to flush with arm with another mistake

I did. A buddy of mine has a body shop and they did one for me out of aluminum. Turned out perfect just not painted but with the mirror you hardly notice.

Pm me if you want his info.

I can't remember how much it was but definitely under $100

Texas Malibu told me I had to order the entire arm.

The local Malibu / Axis shop referred me to a local fabricator. He can make a stainless steel arm for $150. I choose to go that route since the SS will be stronger solution than aluminum. He is also going to beef up the connection with so that it will not happen again.

Thanks for the responses and help!

Jim

I found a stainless steel fabrication shop to make a new part for my Axis Mirror Arm. It is 1000% more durable than before. If you are interested, Chad will make more and I had attached a picture of his business card. He will make aluminum or stainless steel and has a solution for making the connection more durable than that original part
