Lost my CWB Ride surfer at the lake yesterday. I had it strapped to the bimini and halfway home realized it was gone. Straps were still latched together, so I guess wiggled out and flew off. It was no more than 10 minutes from when we took off to when we realized it was gone and back tracked so my guess is someone saw it fly off and scooped it up. We went over our trail 4 times and couldn't find it. A 5' White board should've been fairly visible.

Do y'all carry your surfboard on the bimini? I was going 25 mph in moderate chop. I've had it wiggle loose a little before but never totally fly off.

I always tow with my boards on and never had a problem. But, this is the second one I heard about yesterday alone, may be changing my mind.

He mentions going 25mph in moderate chop....I don't see people say that if they are towing a boat on a trailer.

Sorry to hear about it man, never had an issue on my boat.

Yeah, I was on the water...not towing

Man. That sucks. I have never had any problems with my boards up there. They've been there for 60 hours so far in all sorts of chop and wind. How did you have them stowed? I put mine in upside down with the front of the board facing the rear of the boat.

Same way here. It had a 3 fin setup and ran the strap straddling the fins to help hold. I'm baffled.

The bummer is that I'm positive someone saw it and scooped it up. After a few passes, you think we would have seen a 5' floating white board.

I've had that happen to me 4 or 5 times, usually in moderate chop, as fast as we can go without getting beat up, into a headwind. Usually someone sees it fly out, but if no one notices....

Shoving the boards further forward seems to have mostly solved the problem. If the nose of the board isn't 4-6 inches over the front of the bimini, you should probably shove it forward even more.

In that case Yes I strap my Doomswell and Brigade up there every time out. Never any issues. I do have the Z5 rack so I'm not real sure about using the stock Bimini but it looks to be pretty good. I wouldn't think you would lose any boards.

I strap mine up there and never had any issues at all. I strap mine between the three fin setup.
