So much for budget friendly boats anymore! Have to agree with Gibbs they're getting really close to Bu prices.

I agree with you on the budget friendly part but are they really getting close to Malibu prices? Bu prices have also been going up at the same rate. Malibu prices jumped 10% last year and Axis went up about 5%. This year Axis is going up 9 - 10% and Bu is going up 4 - 5%. All of the manufacturers are doing this. It's a direct result from the popularity of surfing and a good economy. Bu knows exactly what they are doing. They know that there are some who want the Bu but can't afford it. So they are getting ready to release a new 21V that will be priced between the T22 and 22VLX. It won't be loaded with options but will have the touch screens and the Bu standards. I am hearing it will be right at 79,900

I walked through the new 21vlx today. At the 80k price tag I think I would still take a fully optioned out T22. It does have the new screens and hinged seating but my 2016 A20 feels bigger and deeper than the new 21vlx. Cool thing about the 21 vlx is that with the tower down it clears under 7ft garage door.

No one wants to hear it, but with the price increases Moomba has taken some of the market share. I love Axis Malibu but their price increases have gone crazy.

I have an actual Raptor and love it. Would love to have a Raptor engine option on the Axis

The Raptor engine for the trucks and the Raptor engines that Indmar are marinizing are not the same.

I went back and forth between Axis and Moomba for months. They are putting some nice features on the Moombas and at a comparable price. I would think that they are Axis' biggest competitor and that the comps in sales are getting much smaller

I think moomba is on the right track but that hasn't translated to sales in our area. My dealer used to sell moomba and supra, as well as Malibu, Axis and Nautique. The numbers weren't even close. Axis outsold moomba by a wide margin. After my dealer parted with moomba the local tige dealer picked them up. The margin has grown even wider now. I think the dealer may have a lot to do with that. Regardless I see 10 new axis boats for any one moomba. I will say if axis/Bu prices continue at their current pace, that margin won't last long.

I agree some of the features on the Moomba's are nice. I especially like their sliding rear facing seat. It seems to be a much more user friendly version that ours. I also love the walk on transom pad. It is a nice feature to walk on that instead of walking on our vinyl every time.

I agree on the Moomba comparison. If they had a 22ft boat when I was shopping and could get me close price wise I may have been in a Moomba now, but the dealer was too slow to work with me on the numbers. I too wish I had a locker walkover pad.
