I have twins that just turned 8. They deep water start now but when we started they were 6 and we used the tube. It took several months for them to get the strength and coordination for deep water start. I anchor the tube in the lake and then they sit on the edge with the board ready to go. It's so easy for the rider.
I do it with all the newbies; it keeps me from having to go back and forth ten times.

Any chance u have a photo or even better a video of this?

Hoping to try an 8 yr old today (she can surf in the ocean so I'm hoping for success

If you have a buoyant board it's very hard for the little ones to flip it up when starting. Try using a neutrally buoyant board.

T22 on the regular side:

Definitely confirmed for myself that my personal preference is a little less weight and a little more speed. Wave still has plenty of push from the back, and speeding up into the mid-11s gives much more room to accelerate to the lip.

So what prop is everyone using for surfing? Is there a preference?

I am about to order a backup prop and I figured I might as well get one made exclusively for surfing

2016 t22 with the 350

My dealer told me it has the torque prop but I'm unsure what it is? (Build sheet is at the lakehouse )

torque prop is the 2313 I believe. I'm getting it done with the less aggressive "high altitude" prop (2249) at 4,000'. But I have the 450.

I can't imagine not being able to push whatever you throw at the boat with a 2313, especially at lower elevation.
