Hey everyone,
I'm new to the forum and am planning on buying a 2015 A22 soon. I've really been getting into wakesurfing recently and wanted to know if you guys have dialed in your surf waves yet. I was thinking of going with 1100's in the rear...I'm not sure which size fits under the bow seats for the 2015's but I'll get that too. Also I read that some people with T22's were putting additional bags on top of the seats as well. I'd like to still be able to get a great wave with just two people in the boat. Any feedback is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! I'm picking up my new A22 from the dealer in the next few days weather permitting. I have read where too much rear weight isn't necessarily a good thing. At a certain point the gates will be submerged and you'll definitely need extra bow weight. I recommend putting an extra 400 in the bow either way. I went with the rear 750s and plan on using an extra bag on the bow seats with that setup. It should make the surf wave that much better especially with a light crew.

Congrats! That's a good point. I'm sure there's a point of deminishing returns when it comes to weighting the rear.....especially with the wedge down. I test drove one with just stock ballast and was surprised I could even surf it without the extra ballast but it was pretty decent. I'm excited to ride with it weighted correctly. Thanks for the info!

Agreed. Nose weight with a light crew is key. Sink the whole boat, not just the transom, it will make a huge difference.

I run 600s with wedge and a 750 in the bow (probably fills to about 650). This is usually with 4 peeps.
I had 12 people in the boat this weekend and couldn't run the wedge because the gates were submerged too much... even with the a couple people in the bow plus ballast.

Ya I got 800s for the rear of my 2014 a20 and the gate was submerged to much and just ruined the wave and I even had a 400lbs bag in the front. However I just picked up my 2015 a22 and I was just wondering what ballast bag I should get of the front?? I looked on wake makers and there is no bag for a 2015 a22 yet but I take it since the bow is the same as the a24 now, would that be the bag to get?

Yes, '15 A22 uses same bow bag as the A24.

I have the flyhigh 950 not installed yet in my 15 A22. At the dealer we trial fitted the 950 in the A22 bow and it looked like it would fit fine.

If you're referring to the 950 arrow bag, that's the correct bag for the pre-'15 A22's. There's a different bag for the walk through bow.

yeah the bow bag I have is the horseshoe bag. that is the one we trial fitted. the packing had a picture of the arrow bag on it but it was the horseshoe bag. so maybe it is not 950. I will double check it in the am
