I just wanted to take a quick poll and see what props people were getting on their 2015 boats with the 1.72:1 gear ratio. I ordered my T22 with the base 350hp engine, standard prop and received an Acme 2249 (15", 14.25 pitch, .105 cup). Empty WOT top speed is just under 40mph.

Now that I have some hours on my boat I'm thinking of getting a different prop with a little more pitch. I ride on a big lake and frequently cruise longer distances and I'm always around 3500rpm to keep the boat on plane. At speed it drinks fuel. I can't imagine having a torque or altitude prop as I have always felt like I have way more power than I need.

Anyone using an Acme 2277 or 2279?

I almost posted a similar thread earlier today. What ballast setup are you using? I'm about to order a '15 and it's looking like the torque prop, acme 2313, is going to be the best option from the factory.

Hopefully the folks that have been using their '15s will give their input.

Call up OJ Prop and see what they have been testing them with. They are located right next to the Malibu plant and have been working with them over the last year in the performance testing on the new engines.

Wish they had a few other options from the factory to choose from. Is the general consensus that the 2313 is the best performing prop that you can order with the boat?

I'm currently using 750's in the rear lockers, bow PnP bag, factory ballast and wedge down to surf. I've had 8 people in the boat with this setup and it has plenty of power to spare. I could go more weight than I do and the 2249 is plenty of prop. I think I would be fine with this setup and a 2277 or 2279 I'm just hoping to confirm that before I shell out $700 on another prop.

If you only use the boat to surf the 2313 will be a monster, and you will have a 30mph boat. If you wakeboard with the 2313 I think you'll be running at 4000-4500rpms at wakeboard speed. Just my $.02-I too am curious to hear what others are running on their 15's.

I have a 2313 prop on my 15 that I'm picking up on Tuesday. I'll report back if we are switching the prop for wakeboarding.

I just talked to acme and the recommendation for wakesurfing/wakeboarding is the 2313. They did mention that the 1235 has been their most popular prop, but the 15" props are taking over. For the '15 gear ratios, a 1" pitch change is equal to approximately a 200rpm difference, both ways, up or down. Same thing for diameter, a 1" diameter difference changes the rpms by approximately 200, either up or down. Hope this helps.

I had the 2315 on my first 2 boats (2012 A22, 2013 A22) and then the 2313 on my 2014 T22. We never surf and just wakeboard all the time. With a fully loaded boat (800 pnp in back, nose pnp, lead and people) it would always plane off just fine with the standard motor and run about 4200 RPM while riding at 23mph. When it's empty top speed is about 36-37 mph going balls out! I think the only prop to put on any boat now is either the 2313 or the 2315. My T23 that I pick up tomorrow will have the 2313. Hope this helps.

Thanks JayMan!!! Good info. 1" on the prop = 200rpms makes sense, but 1" cup???? or .1" cup? or 1" pitch?

Good catch! I edited my post. Correct, meant pitch not cup. Thanks!
