I had a chance to ride with Trevor Maur this weekend. He has an A22 and says he does not use the wedge. He says he gets a better shape with extra weight in the boat. Said he weights the boat as follows:
Full PNP ballast
2 750s in the floor
2 400s in the bow
Also runs the larger 15" prop (I think he was talking about the 2313)

I know this thread was discussing the different hole positions of the wedge, and I tried both, noticed a little difference, but if you want a huge difference give more weight a try. I went out yesterday and tried no wedge, full PNP, 1100 sumo in the floor, 400 in the bow and OMG it was a whole new beast.

I always, and i mean always rode full PNP and wedge. Not now. Wedge will only be used for the quick trips from now on.

What engine and rear pnp sacs do you have? I am having trouble planing when I add much more than pnp. If I try to add more to the bow, then the tip wants to dip and take on water.

Been trying to tell Ya'll. No wedge more weight is the way to go.

I learned from Defacto.

Meh, filling extra sacs is for the birds. Plug n play plus wedge is great for me and super easy to setup. I spend more time worrying about my riding than getting the boat setup.

I have the 330hp but I am at see level and I have the 1235 prop. I have the 750s in the rear.

With the extra weight in the front I have no problem getting on a plane.

Never drop the wedge. I don't know if I'd order another boat with it except possibly for resale. Prefer the wake without it and the savings in gas $$$ is a bonus.
