I think this all depends on your skill level and what speed you ride at and rope length, just start experimenting with it and see what fits you best, the wake behind these boats is so easy to change and is so consistent you can't really go wrong, just try to keep the weight ratio close front to rear and the wake will stay nice and firm.

We don't have ours yet but our dealer runs theirs almost identical to DTB. Only difference is they run 750s instead of 600s. I can't wait to start experimenting with ours

My son who rides at an Intermediate level is at 70' 23mph
Full factory ballast (rear & center)
Along with 600's in rear
950 in bow.
Wedge Down.

He hates riding without the wedge.

Quick question about the wedge and what it does to the wake shape?

From what I've seen the wedge makes the wake a little steeper, more rampy than without. I like riding with full stock ballast, 750's in the back and 950 in front, 70ft @ 24. For me, that's all I can handle. You can fly as high as you care to with that set up... It's scary sometimes. I've ridin some with the wedge up and it's just a little softer of a wake to me. Maybe with a full boat I would keep it up.

I just drive and don't ride. But from what I hear it does make it "steeper" and more of a "lip" rather than a "rolling smooth" top of the wake.

My son hates riding without the wedge. I tried to ask him tonight via text what his choice was but after two text I realized I would rather have my wisdom teeth pulled again. I will get clarification tomorrow and let ya know what his preference is.

Thanks Bama. Our older tige has a rampy wake and I am definitely wanting a steeper wake. I miss the steep narrow wake of my buddies old SAN

Keep in mind that Axis boats love bow weight. It really firms up the wake and gives the wake more volume (add at least an additional 400lb sac on top of the 950lb arrow sac but 650lb would be better). The Axis wake is so consistent, clean, and easy to play with. It's actually hard to mess up the wake. Just have fun and experiment.

Personally I hate riding without the wedge. I like the steep, lippy wake with vertical boost. I ride with only 1-3 in the boat, stock full, 750's in the rear about 2/3's full and a 400 sac on top of the bow.
