Hey Guys, I'm relatively new to the forum. About a month ago i finished riding and pulled the boat out of the water, much to my surprise the little nub that you squeeze together to release the pins that drop the wedge was missing. I looked closer and realized that the pin and spring were also gone. Luckily i found the pin and spring in the parking lot, but not the little nub.

I am curious if anyone else has had this problem? Also just an FYI it's something that you might want to periodically check to make sure its tight.

In the meantime i have a 1/4-20 1/2" bolt holding the main pin in place, but its kind of a pain to tighten and loosen every time i want to drop the wedge.

I had that problem with my old Malibu. You might want to make sure you get a pin replacement quickly. I tried to use a stainless steel pin but it still rusted then I ended up loosing the pin and spring. The Malibu dealership in Houston could never get the replacement parts for me.

I had the exact thing happen to be but my pin and spring was lost in the water. My dealer warranty replaced it. I did find that you can buy the replacement parts on Bakes online.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I will check out Bakes as it will cost me more in fuel to take it up to the dealer.

Looks like they have all the parts. Slide pin, thumb pin and spring all sold individually.

When you re-install, put some red thread lock on it, or even bolt locker/epoxy/super strong glue!

I have seen this issue when owners have not kept an eye on it. Realistically, there's little reason you'll even need to remove the threaded nub so get it stuck in there permanently! :-)

While you are waiting just replace with hyperlite binding screws. Same thread and size.

I regularly check mine and it fell out today too. Wondered why the boat was suddenly sluggish. DOH!

Hopefully I can get CTWS to mail me the part under warranty so i do not have to drive down there.

Red LockTight is going on this time.

Well, CTWS determined the only way to get the pin covered under warranty was to bring the boat in or i could purchase the necessary parts.

Would have cost around $60 in gas to haul the boat down to the dealer and the parts were right at $50 shipped.

Made the repairs (very easy to do so) and added LockTight this time... they will need a cutting torch to get them out next time.

My suggestion would be to take yours out and add threadlock to avoid this issue.
