I too am having a surf gate issue on a boat that is 1.5 yrs old (100 hrs). I have a 2015 Axis T22 and two weeks ago I lost the "surf display" on the dash gage and the gates would not deploy. The only way I could get it back was to go into the config screens and turn it off and turn it back on with the engine off. After turning on the engine the surf display reappeared and it functioned correctly. From my limited time with this problem it appeared that communications between the dash and the control module were lost. Since I was able to get running again I was pretty confident I wasn't dealing with a fuse or actuator or limit switch.

However my problem is back. Was out riding today and again I lost the surf display on the dash. Again I turned off and turned on the gates in the config menus and it functioned again. However my fix only lasted 1 hr and it now appears surf gate is dead. I have not been able to recover surf gate yet. I suspect this will be a growing issue among our users.

Couple of questions.
1) Where are the surf gate fuses ? I have a set of fuses on the wall below the steering wheel, but none of them are for surf gates. It's blower, ballast pumps, bilge, etc. Is there another fuse panel ? I can't find one.
2) For those of you that had bad actuators or limit switches what was your failure like ? Could you surf on one side, but not the other ? Or did this short out the entire system ? Did you lose your dash display with L-SURF-R gates graphic ?
3) For those of you that had to have the surf gate module replaced was your problem intermittent or was it a permanent failure ? BTW - what was your cost for module replacement ?
4) How many hours did you have on your boats when you are seeing these issues. Again my boat is 1.5 years old, 1 winter, and about 100 hrs.

Thanks for the read.

Similar issues on my 14 malibu, not axis, so take for what it's worth. First place to check is the fuse, which is on a power distro stud near the transmission (on right side while you are on your knees peeking in at the tranny). On the 14 malibus it is just a 30A inline atc fuse with a rubber cover. I pulled the fuse and it was good. but had a little bit of corrosion and grime on it. Scratched it up a little and reinserted and it worked fine. Put in a new 30A fuse for good measure. Issue never recurred after that.

1) I could not find a fuse for my surf gate. I could be tucked away somewhere I just haven't found it.
2)I had a complete failure. Nothing would work. I had the dash display but it was not normal. With the switch in the middle position the "SURF" should be in highlighted with a black box. Mine did not.
3) My module was replaced under warranty. My dealer said the module is around 1K.
4) 2014 a20, 1 winter, 30hrs
